Great things are happening for Oliver James on the other side of the Atlantic as the 22 year old McNeese State University student continues to impress. Just a week after smashing though the 3:50 barrier for 1500m, Oliver improved further in winning his heat at the prestigious Florida Relays in Gainesville last Friday night. His time of 3:47.55 represented nearly a two-second improvement on his previous best, and moves him up to fourth on the Sunderland Harriers all-time list for the distance. At the current rate of improvement Gavin Massingham’s club record of 3:42.36 might not be beyond the realms of possibility in the not too distant future.
