NE TRACK SEASON GETS UNDER WAY AT JARROW

Last Wednesday the night the track season in the north-east finally got under way with the first north-east track league meeting at Jarrow.

Six-middle distance athletes ran in the 1500m races and three sprinters competed over 150m and 300m. In the U13 girls 1500 Lydia Stoker ran a new PB of 5:45, whilst Sarah Knight, Eve Quinn and Rowan James competed in the C race of the graded 1500m. Eve was first to finish in 5:12.1, closely followed by Sarah in 5:16.9 then Rowan in 5:29.2. In the B race Jess Fox and Jack Tallentire competed, Jack was second in 4:31 and Jess ran 4:57. In the A race U20 Mark Smith finished third in 4:07 narrowly beaten by Senior runner Sparrow Morley. In the 150m girls race Paige Dembry finished third in a time 22.4, in the boys race Declan Murray and Reece Carol both ran. Declan clocked a time of 18.8 and Reece 19 flat. Afterwards Declan competed in the 300m and ran 40.5.
